Who is Hannah?
Hannah (she/her) is a creative athlete, teacher and all-round creative.
‘As a performer, I love expressing my activist side. My intention while performing is to express the things that are alive within me as a queer, neurodivergent woman of colour. I want to empower the audience by being raw, vulerable and real.
In my pole dance performances I want to share the rich history of pole dance. While always honouring my old school style roots, I aim to combine the art of pole dance with new, different styles of dance.
I have always had creative outbursts while painting my face, so over-the-top make-up looks are key to my performances. The make-up is an extension of myself and what I want to communicate with the performance
As a pole dance instructor, I want to share with others the ways in which pole dancing has impacted my mental well-being, physical health and my relationship with my body.
In any class, safety comes first. I am First Aid certified as pole dance is a sport that is not risk-free. But even more importantly, I want to create a sense of safety in any space I create, to allow people to get our of their comfort zones without overstepping their own boundaries.
As a certified holistic therapist, I bring community care and activism into the wellness space.
With a huge emphasis on somatics, I want to share tools that hold the power to help people heal, rest and take care of their bodies in an accessible way.
Practicing a decolonized form of yoga, I view my yoga as a form of therapy, using meditation, movement and breath work elements in my practices.
With a certificate in Art Therapy, I love to be creative when teaching. My practices always evolve as I grow as a person. I am the type of teacher that will always remain a student.
Over the years, I have developed my own signature style of teaching, combining my various backgrounds and interests.
This makes for a unique experience!’
